About the Coalition

Founded in January of 2024, the Athens Homeless Coalition, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is dedicated to coordinating Athens's efforts to prevent and end homelessness.

Michael is a dedicated advocate and leader committed to fostering health equity and eradicating homelessness. With a deep-rooted connection to the Athens community, Michael has demonstrated success spearheading housing initiatives, forming robust partnerships, and implementing innovative public health and social service programs.

Michael Bien, MPA

Claire serves as the Community Data Coordinator of Athens Homeless Coalition. She has extensive experience in social work, nonprofit programming, homeless services, and data collection. She works to partner with the community and direct service providers to manage data involving homelessness in Athens in order to better support improved service provision.

Claire Cates, MSW

Michael Moss is a gifted community advocate with a deep commitment to serving Athens-Clarke’s unhoused population. With experience as a Client Engagement Specialist at the Advantage Homeless Day Services Center, Michael has cultivated lasting relationships with local individuals in need through his outreach efforts. He is closely connected with a strong network of contacts within agencies, non-profits, and community organizations.
